Check the panels for completeness, colour and damage before starting. Choose fixings suitable for the wall surface and the specific panel.
- Plan the layout. Measure the space and lay out your composition. Check for concealed services if preparing the wall requires drilling.
- Prepare the wall. Remove dust and loose coatings. The surface must be dry, level and sound. Use primer only as specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Mark a reference line. Use a spirit level. Check the position of the first panel before fixing the others.
- Adhesive installation. Use an adhesive compatible with the backing and wall surface. Apply to the back, press into position and allow to cure according to the adhesive instructions. DecorMania recommends Mammuth adhesive; indicative coverage is 2–3 m² per tube, depending on the substrate and application.
- Alternatively: hook-and-loop fixings. Use dedicated panel fixings and follow their placement and load instructions. Do not assume that any self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape will be suitable.
- Final check. Check alignment and adhesion. Do not load the panels before the fixing has fully cured.
This collection does not require a rail system. This guide does not cover rail mounting.
Care & everyday use
- Vacuum regularly with a clean, soft attachment.
- Spot clean with a slightly damp cloth. Choose cleaners to suit the fabric and test in an inconspicuous area first.
- Do not soak or immerse panels, or use aggressive cleaning agents.
- Panels are decorative, not structural. Use accessories only as intended.
Properties & documentation
Acoustics: Soft surfaces can help reduce sound reflections. This is not a claim of wall sound insulation or guaranteed noise reduction. No dB, NRC or αw value is specified for these variants.
Moisture: Cleanable upholstery does not mean a waterproof panel. Use in dry interiors, away from direct water exposure.
Reaction to fire: Flame-retardant fabric does not make the finished panel non-combustible. Obtain current documentation for the chosen variant where a specific classification is required.
Backing material: Source descriptions vary between MDF and HDF. General information therefore uses “rigid backing board”. Confirm the exact construction for your chosen product.
